travel and teach abroad: a community for wandering educators.
Jade Scanlon is a recent graduate of English Literature combined with Creative Writing BA (hons). She was awarded her higher second class degree at The University of Salford, Manchester UK.
Since graduating, Jade has now decided to take some time away from academia, and the corporate world that often follows, and instead has decided to take on a prolonged period of overseas travel. After having the opportunity to work in Spain for four months during her summer break between her second and third year of University, she has decided that she needs to experience more of life in different countries, and to experience different cultures and customs.
One of her favourite quotes is one of Henry David Thoreau: “How vain it is to sit down and write when you have not stood up to live.”
She will soon be residing in Thailand, traveling around South-East Asia and working as an English teacher. AKA: standing up to live!
Her current writing project is a science-fiction novel called Armonia. She hopes that broadening her horizons will really help her in developing her fictional worlds and characters for this novel, as well as develop her own spirit and self in the process.
